The PHOTOWALL was a huge hit at Jasia + Daniel’s wedding!  Here are some fun images we got from the night!

If any of my current clients want to add the photowall to their wedding packages I’ll do it at a discounted rate so just shoot me an email!

This is how Jasia + Daniel felt after a long day!

APRIL + JASON | WEDDING

October 14, 2009

I went to church with April + Jason when I lived in Irvine.  Although I didn’t know them too well throughout college I was so thrilled when they hired me to shoot their wedding.  Even at their engagement session I had a feeling their wedding would be something special!  I feel like I’ve gotten to know them so much better throughout this process and I can see how they’re such a perfect fit for each other.  It was so sweet to see how Jason was so attentive to April on their big day.  He constantly asked me how she was doing and if she needed anything.  He said he just wanted everything to be perfect for her!

Get ready for a mega post!  There were just so many moments I wanted to share it was hard for me to narrow it down to show on the blog so I figured why not just post everything I want?!

I want to thank Crystal for helping me out that day!

April made all the centerpieces!

Putting a wedding dress on usually takes everyone’s help!!!

They decided to do a first look.  It was cute because Jason really wanted it to be a first look so he walked backwards all the way down before he turned around to see his beautiful bride!

For a second they couldn’t find the ring!  Everyone thought they were joking around but suddenly Jason picked up something off the ground!!!!  PHEW!

The bridal party entrance was hilarious!

April + Jason treated the guests to a few songs throughout the reception!  They were really good!!!!

Instead of clanking the glasses for a kiss they told the guests they would imitate whatever the guests did.  Their guests were not shy!!!

They had to do a combo fo these two kisses.

These kids had enough of the kissing!

They did the traditional Korean ceremony called Paebaek after the reception.

This looks like such a fun wedding! Such wonderful images – a great mix of silly shots and deep heartfelt moments :)

Ahhh, this one is beautiful Hana. Very vibrant, and colorful…it’s all about the purple! Congrats to the bride & groom!

I recently did a photo shoot for a clothing store called Pretty In Pink.  They sold really cute clothes and accessories for women, plus size, and children.  It had the vibe of a Forever21 store, but I felt like it was more organized.  There are two locations in NorCal.  One in San Lorenzo and one in Dublin if you’re ever looking for somewhere new to go!

I’m excited because some of the photos I took are going to be featured as an advertisement in East Bay Regal theaters during the pre-preview time!

CHARLOTTE + PHILLIP

October 5, 2009

Charlotte and Phillip are such an awesome couple.  I love hearing stories of my clients.  It’s funny how love can find each other from across the world.  Although they’re both originally from Hong Kong, they met each other when they ended up at the same college in Boston.  They’ve been together since college and both moved out to California where the weather is more forgiving =)

They’re getting married in Hong Kong, but I was excited to be able to do their engagement shoot!  Again I can’t emphasize enough how windy it is all the time at the beaches in NorCal!!!!  I’m just happy we were able to find little nooks where we could escape!

I need to mention how much I loved Charlotte’s hair!  Her make up artist did it in a way she had a updo at first and in the car she just took it out to have her hair long!  I thought it was so clever how she could have two different hairstyles in one session!!!  If you want the make up artists info here it is!  Stephanie Lau kawaiinee@yahoo.com

Now onto the photos!

I’ve decided to add a “photobooth” service to my wedding packages.  I personally love having photobooths at receptions because it gives the guests something to do and it’s really fun!  Who doesn’t like to get dressed up funny to take pictures?!?!?!

Maybe I should call mine the photo corner because technically it’s not a real booth…but it’s still equally as fun!

So yesterday I set up the whole thing in the living room and had some fun with it!

I can’t help myself. She’s so cute I want to eat her!

And I saved the best for last!  My dad was doing something in the garage and he emerged looking like this. Of course I had to get a picture of it!

ahhhh!! SO CUTE :) i love them…and i think photo corner sounds super cute :) i’d rather have a photo corner than a photo booth!

FALLING IN LOVE

September 3, 2009

Where have I been?!  It’s been a busy month for me and I’m preparing for an even busier September!  Like always I’m behind on blogging, but I’m setting a goal for myself to really work hard to blog as much as possible!  So hopefully you guys will see multiple entries per week now!

What’s all this about falling in love you ask.  No I’m not getting married, no I don’t have a boyfriend, but I can now tell you what it feels like to instantly fall in love with someone.  My niece was born on August 19.  They say parents fall in love with their baby from the moment he/she is born, I can tell you that feeling extends to grandparents and even aunts.  I’m sure the level of love my sister feels for her daughter is so much higher, but in that moment the world stopped, my heart stopped as I saw my niece for the first time.

This is Karly  moments after birth.  I honestly thought she would look a lot more wrinkly and squished rather than a cute alert baby!

The happy mom + baby

She’s so tiny!  She had so much hair we could already put a ribbon on her hair within a few hours!

First of all…I’ve been trying to get my blog to show up on google reader and have the full entry posted with all the photos.  Up until now it would just show an excerpt of the entry.  I sent out a tweet and one of my previous clients put me in touch with his business partner who does this kind of stuff. With the help of a total stranger (seriously it made my day that there are such nice people out in the world) Johnny was able to fix it for me!!!  Thanks a million to Johnny for helping me fix this lil problem I had!

NOW…if you’ve subscribed to my feed through google reader, you’re going to need to delete/unsubscribe from me and add me on again if you want to see the full entry show up without the hassle of clicking over to my blog each time I post something!  Got that everyone?!  Unsubscribe from me and add me again!!!!

So with the technical part out of the way this is a totally random entry!  I saw this bird hanging out on a wire in front of my house the other day.  And I thought it was eating a worm, but I couldn’t tell so I went in the house and got my camera with my 70-200mm lens.  I know so dorky, but I was curious!  I zoomed in and I was right.  It was eating this juicy worm!  A few minutes later the bird’s friend comes along and it looks like they’re having some kind of intelligent conversation!

Here’s the bird zoomed in with it’s lunch.

The bird’s buddy joined him.  I’ve always loved the look of birds on wires!

Did anyone notice the color of the sky?!?!  This is NorCal for you in the summer!!!  It looks like winter and I don’t like it!

Well I have about 8 weddings and a family session to post on the blog and I’m slowly getting around to it so hope you guys keep checking in!

you’re welcome! i’m glad i was able to help out! good luck with everything! :D

I love the look of birds on wires as well! Especially love that last photo!

If you don’t know me, you will quickly find out how much I love dogs.  My good friend gave me Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul and I haven’t been able to finish it because I cry at almost every story!  I think I got through 10 stories and decided I didn’t want to wake up with puffy eyes!

Growing up in an apartment my parents promised my sister and me when we move to a house we’ll get a dog.  I hung to that promise daily hoping for the day I too could have my very own dog!  Flash forward to 5th grade, we moved and soon after my parents found us Shawn a cute Lhasa Apso puppy.  He is now 16, blind, deaf, and walks with great effort, but I still see his puppy spirit hidden behind long naps and frequent trips to the backyard for a potty break.

Over the years we got other dogs.  With each new dog my mom said no more!!!!  But soon she too got attached to them and I frequently see her with one or two of the dogs by her side.  How can we not love a dog that unconditionally loves us.  Every time I step through the doors I’m greeted by a scene of chaos.  Even after I yell at one or all of them for doing something bad, they still quietly sneak up to me and win me over in a matter of seconds.  They follow us around the house and “protect” us from strangers and give us all these cute looks.

Toby is probably the biggest and fattest Yorkie I’ve ever met!

This is what I wake up too in the morning.  How can you NOT fall in love with this face?!

really adorable dogs =)

I was beyond thrilled when Angela + Sam hired me to shoot their wedding!  There’s something so special when your own friends trust you with one of the most memorial events in their lives.  I’ve known them since my freshman year at UCI and can’t be more happy for them!

They flew me out and we had a great time frolicking around San Juan Capistrano and Crystal Cove with them!  We had a minor glitch when we found out we weren’t allowed to shoot inside the mission at San Juan Capistrano without a permit, but we still had an amazing time walking around and getting some awesome shots!  I even tried a date shake at the Shake Shack in Crystal Cove.  Who would’ve thought a shake made out of dates could actually taste good!  I cannot wait until November for your big day!

Probably one of my favs from the day!

Indeed, life is beautiful!

I promise, I don’t force my clients to jump…they always ask me for this pic!  I think everyone practices because I know I can’t jump this high!
